While many wonderful events took place this fall in the Revere Schools, high school athletics certainly was one of the highlights.
Revere’s Boys’ Soccer Team won the Division II state championship. This is the first state title won by a Revere team. The hard work of the young men on the team as well as the talents and dedication of Head Coach Sandor Jakab and his staff brought the first place trophy to Revere High School. Senior Brandon Taylor was named the “Ohio Division II Player of the Year.”
The support of the Revere community for this team was as outstanding as team’s record. The state championship game was held in Columbus against a Columbus area team, but the Revere fans significantly outnumbered them. It is that kind of support and sense of Revere Pride that makes our district and community unique.
The Girls’ Soccer Team also had a great season and advanced to District’s for the first time in 17 years. They were awarded the 2013 Greater Akron Soccer Officials Association Female Sportsmanship Award. Girls’ Tennis took first place in the Suburban League. Student athletics earned individual honors, making this one of the school’s most successful fall athletic seasons in school history.
Thank you for you continued support and for sending us such great students. Revere Pride…Catch It!!!
